Originally all obtained by Barry Halper from Max Carey Jr., this lot is a total of 10 letters, six of which have the most incredible "Brooklyn National League Baseball Club Ebbets Field" stationery. Some are more than one page, dating from 1932-42, the content is amazing: 1) Negotiating 1933 contract. This letter was not to him, but about him. 2-3) Two from Branch Rickey Jr; the effect of the “war situation” (WWII) and Miami Club going broke. 4-7) Four from Jim Mulvey, one is four-pager; 1932 sale of Dazzy Vance, trade for Frisch & Bottomley, Bill Terry & 1932 waivers. 8) Dazzy Vance trade and Wilbert Robinson. 9) Club trying to keep him. 10) Extensive two-page Dutch Carter letter praising Jim Mulvey. Except where noted, all are written to Max Carey from top Dodger execs and these vintage documents have been kept in outstanding condition.
