Extremely rare, this enameled tie bar depicting the classic NY Yankees team logo was presented to players and VIPs from this tour of Japan following the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers upset in the World Series. On the back, the inscription commemorates the Tour, with name of the sponsoring newspaper. The lot includes the rarer-still original wood box in which the tie bar was presented. Mickey Mantle and his Bronx Bombers played 16 games, winning 15, with one ten-inning tie.There's some oxidation on the back and minor chipping of the metal on the front but overall in EX condition, and the box is NRMT.
