On October 2, 1980, World Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes stopped former champ Muhammad Ali in the 10th round in defense of his title. When Holmes returned to his home of Easton, Pennsylvania, appreciative fans presented him with this prestigious award. This wood plaque has a City of Easton pewter plate mounted at center, and a gold colored plaque mounted below the plate reads, "Presented to Larry Holmes in recognition of his outstanding attainment of the Heavyweight boxing champion of the World....citizens of Easton Pennsylvania, October 27, 1980." To the left and right are bronze fight gloves of Holmes which he has signed in Sharpie. These hung in the home of Larry Holmes for many years and were obtained directly from him. The plaque is in EX condition, with six mounting holes in the wood.
