Not only is this massive poster exceptionally rare, but the movie it references has been almost entirely forgotten. Measuring 63x47", this French poster for "Vive le Football" has typcial movie poster folds and is in VG condition, with graphics and color that practically jump off the page. The roughly 30-minute film promotes the 1938 World Cup of Soccer in France, and appears to be officially sanctioned, yet it does not appear in FIFA's film records or in the filmography of it's director, Rene Lucot, who is prominently named on the poster. The film itself is still available, only in French, and does display some of the growing tensions that led to World War II.
