Dating back to its creation in 1939, this stately silver bowl on wood base trophy was presented to the Kootenay Junior Midget Hockey champions until 1980. Engraved on the bowl of the trophy is, "Major Alan Bruce Ritchie Memorial Cup, Midget Hockey Championship of the Kootenays, Presented By S.G. Blaylock 1939." The sturdy base measures 10.5x10.5" and with bowl it stands 9" high. Beneath the sterling silver cup, names of its winners are engraved on plates starting with 1939-1940, with the lone gap being two seasons from 1941-43, presumably due to World War II. Great hockey history and tradition come with this great trophy.
