This is a pair rumored to have come out of Hilltop Park, the New York Highlanders/Yankees home ballpark prior to the Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium. The seats served in an armory in Upper Manhattan, located in the same neighborhood as Hilltop, and were relocated when Hilltop Park closed. That was a common practice in those days and many of these indoor venues became a great source for important stadium artifacts years later. We have left them as you see them, directly from the armory with the original green paint coming through in places. Unfortunately, good quality photos of Hilltop Park seating in use are virtually non-existent so we are unable to photo-match them. As such, we are selling them "as is."
