Offered here is a cabinet photo of Jerry Sullivan, the first "Little Person" to ever play in a professional baseball game. Signed, "Your's with Best Wishes, Jerry Sullivan," this standard cabinet measures 4.25x6.5". In 1905, Jerry D. Sullivan, was inserted into the Buffalo Bisons lineup by manager George Stallings as a stunt, in conjunction with "Simple Simon Simple" opening at the Academy of Music. It had Sullivan co-starring, and as the Buffalo team was staying in the same Baltimore hotel as the cast, it was there, presumably, that Stallings met Sullivan and invited him to serve as an honorary mascot. But it evolved into much more. He created a grand entrance of the diminutive actor before an audience of 1,853 astounded spectators. Sullivan actually went to bat and ultimately scored a run.
