Though the team is now known for its jungle cat helmet style, the Cincinnati Bengals used to sport a more conservative logo during their first 12 years of existence (1968-79): block letters spelling out the team name. That is evident in the original artwork for the first Bengals helmet in 1968, which is offered in this artist's board. On the back is written: "Original prototype artwork submitted to and approved by Paul E. Brown for Cincinnati Bengal helmets." The original art is in EX condition.
