He's known as "Mr. Tiger" after spending his entire 22-year big-league career in Detroit. Right-fielder Al Kaline recorded over 3,000 hits and possessed a sensational arm en route to the Hall of Fame, and he used this Hillerich and Bradsby model P72L in 1963, smack dab in the prime of his career. The 34.5" bat shows very nice use with ball and seam marks on the barrel, as well as some grain swelling on the barrel. The year 1963 is written in marker on the knob, and there is a very small screw hole also on the knob end. It is signed by over 20 members of the 1963 Tigers team including Kaline, Cash, Colavito and Bunning, with the signatures averaging 6/10. After his playing days were over, Kaline spent three decades as Tigers TV analyst. He remains a fixture in the front office at age 81.
