Not only is this a ball from the historic game that saw Pete Rose become baseball's all-time hits leader, but this is the very last ball used in the game and was kept by pitcher Ted Power, who closed the 2-0 win for the Reds. Appropriately enough, the final out was a grounder to Rose at first base, which he fielded cleanly and earned the assist to Power, whose LOA is included in the lot. Rose signed the ball for Power right after the game in blue felt tip on the sweet spot, grading 8/10. Power wrote on the ball in the same pen: "9/11/85 Save #20 Padres, Pete gets 4,192 & 4,193." The official National League (Feeney) baseball shows use and is an unqualified piece of American history.
