Stately and solid, this terrific trophy was awarded to Gaylord Perry shortly after his sterling 1972 season, during which he earned the American League Cy Young Award. Standing over 26" tall atop a 15"-wide marble base, the piece features faded images of both Gaylord Perry and Cy Young on paper affixed to two wings of the award. The top is adorned with three chrome figures of athletes as well as the numbers "19" and "72" to signify the year. There is a plaque on the base which reads: "PRESENTED TO GAYLORD PERRY CLEVELAND STADIUM JULY 28, 1973 IN GRATEFUL APPRECIATION FROM THE TUSCARAWAS COUNTY "CY" YOUNG OLD TIMERS BASEBALL ASSOCIATION." It is in EX condition and would be a real eye-catching addition to any mantle or display case.
