This incredible 14x7" cardboard display was there for the 5th Anniversary of the First Lunar Landing, as this is actually
the invitation form for this Washington VIP event. Framed along with the display is a classic color photograph of the three immortal crewmen. This was the header sign at the reception table and reads in black print, "It Is Respectfully Requested That NO AUTOGRAPHS Be Asked For At This Reception" and, with incredible irony, it is autographed below that request in 9/10 black pen by Neil Armstrong, Mike Collins and Buzz Aldrin. It stands as a hallowed piece for a number of reasons. This was 1974 and the crew members were already sensitive (even way back then) about signing autographs. It also shows that there was a huge demand for their signatures, otherwise the sign would be unnecessary. Plus, of course, the irony that their autographs are placed on a signed stating that autographs are prohibited. We suppose the person at reception did such a great job that they rewarded them with their signatures. In NRMT condition.
