Only part of the amazing story of basketball's Fabulous Five - all of whom have signed the inside cover - is included in this 144-page hardcover book, which was pulled shortly after its publication. The 1947-48 University of Kentucky basketball team posted an amazing 36-3 record on the way to the NCAA Championship, and its five stars enjoyed playing together so much that they purchased their own team, the Indianapolis Olympians, to stay together. Alas, if they existed, the final chapters would be somewhat less uplifting. Two of the five - Ralph Beard and Alex Groza - were indicted in a point-shaving scandal dating back to their collegiate days, earning each a lifetime ban from the NBA. The original cover has several tears but is intact, and the book itself is in VG-EX condition. Includes letter of provenance from the original owner.
