Jersey from this 1958 film almost perfectly interprets with movie magic and actually improves on this classic style worn by the 1956-58 Washington Senators. Whereas the appliques of the MLB shirts are partially in tackle-twill, these are 100% the old felt - Gorgeous! This vintage Washington Senators Flannel bears a Tim McAuliffe tag in the tail, which fell out but has been put back in (upside down). Size 48 and the uniform number "48" is on the reverse with a zipper on the front, just like the major league jerseys. The jersey is in NRMT condition, coming right from the movie prop house itself. The storyline of "Damn Yankees" is the mythical story based on the career of Shoeless Joe Jackson except it is Shoeless Joe Hardy who sells his soul to the devil for a chance to take the Senators to a pennant. The greatest musical interpretation of baseball ever done, with choreography by Bob Fosse and appears to end just like the real Shoeless Joe in scandal and tragedy but you'll have to watch it to find out.
