In pristine condition, here is a rare and early example of a 19th Century baseball, known as a "Lemon Peel." Different than most of the balls for it's heavy threading intertwined throughout the ball and its exceptional condition, this sturdy, rich brown leather ball otherwise is a classic example of that used in the early days of what is now known as "America's Pastime," and quite different from what we are used to seeing today. In spite of its age, it is extremely supple. Named for its resemblance to the fruit, this ball is the right size, measuring about eight inches in circumference. In NRMT condition.
