This heavily worn example from the beginning of a great era in Penguins’ history was worn by steady defenseman Zarley Zalapski. His road (black) jersey is littered with stick marks across the front with marks on the crest and very minor cracking of the screen print. The left sleeve is hammered with marks, red and green paint transfers, unrepaired holes, board burns and a large repair closed with a heavy string. More of the same on the left sleeve with a huge red paint transfer on the upper left arm in addition to marks, burns and holes. The back numbers show heavy black stick marks and peeling and cracking. CENTURY SPORT and CCM logos embroidered on the back hem. Some peeling of the sleeve numbers is also of note. Fight strap sewn inside the back is heavily worn and rusted. Inventory tag of “003746” is still attached. Maska Ultrafil tag still resides in the collar.
