The 38th President of the United States, Gerald Ford, was a star athlete in his native Michigan, eventually playing in college as center, linebacker and long snapper, helping guide the Wolverines to undefeated, National Championship seasons in 1932 and '33. This framed collage is the type that usually hung inside the University, consisting of original art for the newspaper. The montage is of exceptional quality, featuring real photos of each player on that 1933 club. The key, obviously, is Ford, the future president in the lower-right corner. Gorgeous chunky framing shows this off magnificently. There's a chip on the name placard, but the one-of-a-kind piece is otherwise excellent. Significant historically, with both sports and political importance. Measures 29" x 23.5" overall.
