Six sets of silks highlight this tremendous lot that comes from a recent auction of property belonging to Seattle Slew co-owner, George Layman, Jr. The six complete sets reflect the colors of the 1977 Triple Crown winner: bumble bee yellow and black. The satin-like silks have a large capital "L" sewn in black on the back. The collection includes eight caps (one wool knit), two of which have "GEORGE LAYMAN, JR." hand-written inside the bill. The outfits exhibit light wear, though we have been unable to find any photos of jockeys riding Slew while wearing them. Blood Horse magazine ranks Seattle Slew as the ninth best United States Racehorse of the 20th Century.
