Citation won the Triple Crown in 1948 and continued to race for three more years. From his very last competition at Hollywood Bowl in 1951 comes this program (EX) and winning ticket (EX-MT). The race was intended to make him the first horse with over a million in earnings, and that's exactly what happened as Citation ended with a bang, taking the Hollywood Gold Cup over his stablemate, the mare Bewitch. He was then retired to stud. Not a bad way to end a career.
