Afleet Alex was the runaway winner of the 2005 Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. He also came home first in the Hopeful Stakes, Sanford Stakes and the Arkansas Derby. A fan favorite, "Alex" won eight of 12 races during his brief racing career and earned $2,765,800. He was retired to Gainesway Farm in Lexington, Kentucky. This green saddle cloth with white lettering and purple trim is from his retirement celebration at Delaware Park on September 10, 2005 and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, a picture of Alex wearing the cloth and is signed by his trainer during his career, Tim Ritchey and his jockey, Jeremy Rose.
