On June 20, 1960 at the Polo Grounds in New York heavyweight champion Ingemar Johansson defended his title against the man he won it from a year earlier, Floyd Patterson. Patterson gained his revenge with a spectacular knockout in the sixth round to become the first man in history to regain the heavyweight title. Offered here are seven, high resolution, first generation mounted photographs from this historic fight.
