The "People's Horse" - Funny Cide - brought the "everyman" into horse racing and brought fame to a group of friends from Sackets Harbor, New York. In winning the 2003 Kentucky Derby, Funny Cide became the first New York-bred horse to win the Derby and the first gelding to prevail since Clyde Van Dusen in 1929. His Derby win was named "Moment of the Year" by the NTRA, and with good reason. For his career, Funny Cide earned over $3.5 million and was named Champion 3-Year-Old Colt in 2003. This white blanket with red lettering and VISA TRIPLE CROWN logo was presented to Funny Cide in the winner's circle after his historic win.
