One of the most spectacular pieces of TSN original art we've offered. This one was commissioned for publication on April 23, 1947, just four days before Ruth addressed the baseball world from the field he made famous. Note that the original head of Ruth, which had been glued to the piece, was lost, and that a print of the original takes its place. This does little to detract from a spectacular and historically important work. Included is a copy of the paper from that day, featuring the artwork on the cover.
