The man who shattered Babe Ruth's single-season home run record, Roger Maris swings his lumber in this fantastic, signed 8" x 10" with a signature that rates 9/10 out of 10 in black ballpoint pen and is the best you will ever see. While Maris signed photos are relatively common, vintage ones are practically non-existent, and this gorgeous example was probably signed during his whirlwind, record-breaking 1961 season when Maris was doing some in-store celebrity appearances early in the season. There is one small wrinkle in the upper left margin but otherwise is in NM-MT condition and comes with a PSA/DNA full letter. The Minnesota-born slugger was embroiled in a huge home run battle with teammate and fellow "M & M Boy" Mickey Mantle, swatting 61 in '61, a record that stood until Mark McGwire surpassed it in controversial fashion in 1998.
