The Pottsville Maroons’ disputed claim as NFL World Champions of 1925 brands this band with delicious controversy, as the Chicago Cardinals (who boasted the better regular season record) officially own the title in the league's eyes despite losing to Pottsville head-to-head. Distributed later at a reunion, this (non-gold) ring’s crown is engraved with “World Champions NFL 1925” around its ruby pool. Its left shank is adorned with a shield with team’s name and year, while right shank shows playing boot and championship banner. A tough ring, that is Size 11. Pottsville was controversially suspended from the league after having played an unauthorized exhibition game in Philadelphia. The dispute was that they had violated the territorial rights of the Frankford Yellow Jackets.
