Back before they were Amazin', the Mets were a floundering fledgling franchise without a home of their own, playing their first two seasons at the decrepit old Polo Grounds. That being said, this masterfully restored seat from the Giants' old home in Upper Manhattan is in MINT Condition and features a beautiful interlocking NY plaque on the reverse of the middle slat, orange stanchions with a picture-perfect blue NY. The seat, which is numbered "1" on the back, measures roughly 22" x 30" x 9" and is ready to slot right into your home or office. The Mets eventually moved into their first true home - Shea Stadium - in 1964, and within five years were crowned World Champions. The Polo Grounds, from which this seat was extracted - was demolished the week Shea opened, closing a seminal chapter of New York sports history.
