Angered by missing the playoffs for the first time since 1948, the Montreal Canadiens entered the 1970-71 season with their eyes set firmly on Lord Stanley's Cup. Mission accomplished. The Habs held off the Chicago Black Hawks in a thrilling seven-game final, with Henri Richard leading the charge, scoring two goals in a come-from-behind, 3-2 win. This trophy - which stands 13" tall - was handed out to an unidentified player on that championship squad and is in EX-MT condition with a few light scratches on the reverse. The front reads: "CLUB DE HOCKEY CANADIEN 1970-71" with a list of names underneath, including five executives, two trainers, coach Al MacNeil and the 22 players who graced the roster that season. Among them was rookie net-minder Ken Dryden, who shined in the team's 20 postseason games with a 3.00 goals-against average en route to the Conn Smythe Trophy. This was Montreal's 16th Stanley Cup victory, and the last for beloved captain Jean Beliveau, who retired after the game.
