Pat Moran's legacy will always be guiding two National League teams to their initial pennants: the 1915 Phillies and 1919 Reds. Still, the native of Fitchburg, Mass was a formidable catcher, who compiled a career .279 batting average. This huge, professional-quality mitt is circa 1910, when Moran was donning the tools of ignorance with the Phillies. The glove itself is a relic with heavy damage from use and time. There are remains of a patch on the reverse. The glove descended directly through the Moran family. One can only imagine the pitchers he caught and the opposing batters he faced.
