Turn of the Century shortstop Honus Wagner personally filled out this check from the Carnegie Trust Company in Carnegie, PA, close to where he played in Pittsburgh between 1900 and 1917. It is dated October 26, 1918 and signed on the front in 7/10 black fountain ink. Additionally, it was endorsed on the back by Wagner, with that signature in pencil and grading a very bold 9/10. The check itself - which is in the amount of five dollars - has a few slight wrinkles. Born Johannes Peter Wagner, the man known as "The Flying Dutchman" won no fewer than eight batting titles during his Hall of Fame career.
