Henry Armstrong was born on December 12, 1912 in Columbus, Mississippi. He won the World Featherweight Title on October 29, 1937 from Petey Sarron. He then went on to win the World Welterweight Title from Barney Ross on May 31, 1938. 3 months later on August 17, 1938 he defeated Lou Ambers to win the World Lightweight. Offered here is a vintage 1940's leather headgear used by Henry Armstrong during his last comeback attempt. It has the chin strap and is missing the laces. There are signs of heavy use. A few scrapes to the leather, but no tears. Completely intact. Letter Of Authenticity from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc. Very little equipment of this great champion has survived.
