From 1931 to 1977, Chester Gould inked one of the most popular strips in America. This particular "Dick Tracy" four-panel daily from 1953 is titled "The Recruit" and features a rendezvous set-up between Dick Tracy and a character named Miss Smithly as the two communicate via 2-way wrist radio. Gould signed and personalized the strip to "Bert Randolph Sugar" at the top in red pen.
