A miraculous discovery! This magnificent relic was found, along with the uniform on the following page, during a house clean-out in Detroit. They were stowed away in an attic, inside a box that also contained a 1940s Detroit Stars printing plate and letter to the manager of the Detroit Stars, V.L. Wilson. Upon further research, it was discovered that the house was once the residence of Wilson. The off-white jersey has maroon lettering across the front, spelling "DETROIT." On the back, in the same color felt, is "STARS" at the top and number 18 below. Empire and Pepperell Fabrics tags are in the collar. The flag tag with the size is washed out. All-original with maroon and grey piping. Matching pants are off-white and have same maroon and grey piping. Comes with a pair of maroon and white leggins and also sliding pads. All items are 100% original and show nice use. Also included is a copy of the letter found with the equipment and a print from the printing plate, which pictures the Stars team wearing jerseys identical to this one. During our 30+ years we have handled two Negro League jerseys, with this being the third (and fourth on the following page).
