Offered here is a rare 3.5"x5" Tintype featuring a crisp, clear image on thin 1/4 plate. The 1880s image shows a player holding a catcher's mask wearing a uniform with "MW" across the chest. Like most Tintypes the player is unidentified. Tintypes are highly desired collectibles because they offer beautifully detailed photos from the dawn of baseball's popularity. Additionally, it's exceedingly tough to find a Tintype featuring a single player such as we have here.
