The man who broke baseball's color barrier in 1947, Jackie Robinson was the consummate athlete, lettering in four sports at his alma mater, UCLA. The best of this lot is a single page from the 1939 Pasadena Junior College yearbook. Robinson is pictured as the acting captain of the basketball team and he signed in 9/10 blue ink "Jack Robinson." This was signed in 1939 and is one of the earliest signatures you will ever find of the Hall of Famer. Included is an intact 1939 Pasadena Junior College Yearbook and 1941 UCLA Yearbook that pictures Jackie several times. Both books are EX, and the 1939 has some students' signatures in it. Robinson played his entire 10-year major league career with the Brooklyn Dodgers, choosing to retire rather than accept a trade to the crosstown rival New York Giants.
