The Pottstown Maroons were an NFL team between 1925 and 1928, and remain a controversial franchise to this day. That first season of '25, the Maroons were on their way to the championship when the commissioner punished the club for playing an exhibition game in Philadelphia against warnings not to do so. Though rings were never presented to the team after having posted the best record in 1925, each of the players received one of these gems in the 1960s at a team reunion. This is not just any old ring, it was presented to star player, Tony Latone, and has his name engraved inside. The wording around the red stone in the center reads: WORLD CHAMPIONS NFL 1925. A shield bearing the message: POTTSVILLE MAROONS 1925 distinguished the left panel, while "WORLD CHAM" is cut off by a football shoe on the right panel. Also stamped inside with a maker's mark. It is in NRMT condition and would make a wonderful addition to any collection! During the six seasons he played in the NFL, Latone out-rushed (2,648-2,616 yards) and outscored (26-21 touchdowns) the Hall of Fame's Red Grange, despite playing 30 fewer games. Size 14.
