This is original cartoon artwork done by noted artist Burris Jenkins circa 1936. Entitled, "The Battle Of Berlin" "Hitler Behind Title Bid To Braddock." When Jimmy Braddock defeated Max Baer in 1935 to win the heavyweight title, most thought Joe Louis would be his logical opponent. When Louis was stopped by Schmeling in 1936, the German and Hitler wanted the fight but it was not to be. Braddock did fight Louis and lost, setting up the famous second fight between Louis and Schmeling in 1938. This original cartoon art has tears on the borders with the tears at top affecting the artwork. Some writing on border. 17x22.5." Extremely rare boxing and political artwork.
