This is a salesman's sample ring that is nearly identical to the one that the winner received. In fact, the only difference is that this one has cubic zirconias instead of diamonds. The face showcases the number 500 in gold, surrounded by 12 cz's. It is 10-karat gold and stamped H J (Herff-Jones) inside along with "10K." Atop the face is "INDIANAPOLIS" and "WINNER" is below, with checkered flags on either side. The left shank lists the recipient's name (LUYENDYK) and his number (30) surrounding the depiction of a flagsman. The opposite shank reads: 1990 and "24th" with the Indy 500 logo and speedway illustration. It is in NRMT condition and sized 10 3/4. Dutch racer Ari Luyendyk won the first of his two Indy 500 races in 1990.
