What a tremendous artifact this is! A scorecard from the very early days of baseball as the team that would eventually become the Brooklyn Dodgers played the Indianapolis Hoosiers in a double-A game at Washington Park on May 30, 1884 (Decoration Day). The "Trolley Dodgers" actually played TWO games that day, as they would host the St. Louis Browns later that afternoon, falling 11-5. There is pencil writing on the front and center scorecard chronicling the game info, and ads surrounding the scorecard graph in red ink. The rules of the game are printed on the back. Brooklyn wound up winning this game, 5-0 The bottom right corner is chipped but otherwise this item has been wonderfully preserved.
