This very famous 1963 artwork from one of the greatest sports cartoonists who ever lived - Amadee Wohlschlaeger - was the basis for the statue that sits at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. It depicts Hall of Fame slugger Stan "The Man" Musial signing an autograph for a young fan. The work on artist's board is done with pen, ink, and watercolor. There is some minor staining and a crease in the center. It is signed at the bottom by Amadee, who spent decades illustrating for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, including the daily Weather Bird drawings. This classic picture was additionally used on the front of several programs and publications through the years.
