Before the turn of the 20th century, when John L. Sullivan was boxing's first champ and America's first sports celebrity, he was involved with the popular minstrel shows. This rare framed handbill for one of these shows tells the story on the back, with amazing detail and color on the front. Some water stains and toning on back, one cut that goes all the way through the handbill. Handbill measures approximately 4x9 inches, in a 12x15 inch frame.
