This is the actual baseball that was hit by Pete Rose for career hit number 4,255, the second to last of his career. At the moment it was the record setting career hit ball of all-time. Pete went on to get his final major league hit in that same game on August 14th, 1986. Ball is an Official National League (Feeney) model and shows nice game use. Pete has signed the ball and also added "Hit # 4255" in his hand. Below the area where Pete wrote the hit number is some very faint (faded) writing in his hand also where he recorded the date of the game and the pitcher. Comes with a copy of the Letter of Authenticity signed by Pete Rose. Rose had a storied career with the Cincinnati Reds, where he earned the nickname "Charlie Hustle" for his ceaseless work ethic and desire to win. His baseball resume is long and legendary, with 17 All-Star Team selections, the 1973 NL MVP, 2 Gold Gloves, a Silver Slugger, 3 World Series Championships, and the All-Time Hit record with 4,256.
