Before there were hanging chads, Thomas Dewey was the poster child for near-miss presidential elections. His 1948 run to the White House came so close, it spawned the infamous incorrect headline from the Chicago Tribune after Election Night: "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN." These (6) 11x14" black and white photographs from 1946 and '48 include Philippe Halsman stamps on the back, as well as Dewey's full name handwritten by Halsman in pencil. They are NRMT.
