This 21" diameter "baseball" hung in the Ebbets Field Rotunda. The rotunda was sometimes compared to a bottleneck, because of the way it was designed, with a crowd of people grouped in a long, narrow space before it opens up. This piece was rescued from the demolition project in 1960 at the famous 55 Sullivan Place location in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The cast iron baseball, weighing over 60 pounds, was repainted years ago. It is in EX condition. This piece is a very rare and desirable artifact from one of the most famous ballparks in the world. Those golden years of baseball will always be remembered by the fans. LOA.
