There is also a color magazine photo of Maris swinging the bat in a St. Louis Cardinals uniform matted below it. The signature on the color photo is 7/10 in blue ballpoint pen. Maris shocked the world in 1961 when he broke Babe Ruth's record of 60 home runs in a season. His feat created controversy because he had achieved it with the benefit of eight extra scheduled games.
