This very rare set of five Allen & Ginter cigarette advertising silks show Civil War leaders and were used as some of the first trading "cards" used for advertising their products. Each silk featured a vertical portrait printed horizontally at the bottom of the silk. This set includes George H. Thomas, Philip H. Sheridan, William T. Sherman, George B. McLellan, and David Farragut. Two of the 5 silks have all been separated and show some coloring from age, few stains and fraying at the edges, but are in excellent condition.
