Outfielder Ron "Rocky" Swoboda made his mark as a member of the 1969 Miracle Mets World Championship baseball team when he made the catch of his career in the ninth inning of Game 4 on a Brooks Robinson line drive. Always known more for his power than his defensive prowess (hence the affectionate pejorative "Rocky"), Swoboda played for the Mets from 1965 through 1970, then spent a short time with the Montreal Expos before finishing his career back in New York with the Yankees. This Louisville Slugger model R 43 Ron Swoboda signature model bat was used during the 1970-71 seasons. It is 34 1/2" in length and weighs 32 oz., and has really been pounded. The bat has a large chip in the knob and a nice coat of pine tar. Great memento of the ever-popular Swoboda, who is now a baseball broadcaster and will bask in the glory of that Game 4 catch forever.
