This is a Spalding Gold Medal model Miller Huggins professional model bat from the labeling period of 1908 to 1911. Measuring 30 3/4" in length and weighing 38.9 ounces, the ash bat shows evidence of heavy use and has a chip in the knob and three chips visible on the barrel. The bat, which appears to have been hand-turned, shows numerous ball marks all around the barrel in addition to many surface abrasions. As the Gold Medal series of bats was available to the public, a major factor in differentiating between professional player bats and retail bats is the presence or absence of the Spalding trademark on the knob. The bats without the trademarks were made for professional players, as is this bat. This authentic Miller Huggins bat will certainly enhance any vintage baseball collection. Comes with PSA LOA.
