This interesting lot consists of a baseball questionnaire on the letterhead of Karl Wingler, Baseball Historian and Statistician that was submitted to and completed by Roger Maris in his own hand during December, 1957. There is the one-page transmittal letter/questionnaire which has been filled out and signed by Maris in blue pen, along with a carbon of the original letter with Patricia Carvell (Maris' wife) printed in blue ink. Also included are two unlined 4 1/2 x 3" cards that Maris has completed; one regarding the schools he attended and the other concerning his parents, his nationality, and the scout who originally signed him to a professional baseball contract. Finally, there is the envelope, postmarked December 21, 1957 from Fargo, North Dakota, that Maris used to return the questionnaire to Wingler. Certainly an unusual collectible, this is a must for the Roger Maris fan.
