Joe Namath and Muhammad Ali, with others, were icons of their day who represented the coming of a new breed of athlete in sports. This jersey is the ultimate symbol of this changing tide in football and sports in America. Fabulous kelly green jersey is a gorgeous style with big bold number "12" on both sides. Pure white cuffed sleeves sport green striping and number "12" on each. Killer "Namath" on the verso, to embody this unmatched winner and Super Bowl predictor and predicator. A Champion size 44 with tag in the tail. Shows light if any use but is still a 100% right Namath jersey. Likely worn in the pre-season or early in the regular season. Superb provenance: We obtained this jersey directly from a close friend of the President of the New York Jets. The President gave this jersey to him while he was visiting Shea Stadium in the early 1970's. He was not 100% sure of the year (but he never forgot the meet-ing!), so we will not speculate on the exact year. The first New York Jets Joe Namath jersey we have ever offered. LOA from jersey expert, Lou Lampson.
