This is a circa 1880 Spalding Axletree "This Side Up" baseball bat measuring 33" in length and weighing 29 oz. The bat is in excellent condition with one nail and one nail hole between the handle and the trademark. Spalding trademark has partially worn off; 80% of it remains. The black and red rings at the head of the bat are also worn; 70% of them remain. There is a light spot in the middle handle area. This is one of the nicest bats of its kind we have seen.
